Dogwood Flats - A cozy guest house in the oak trees!

Welcome to Dogwood Flats, a newly renovated 1 bedroom 1 bathroom guest house with a full kitchen. We are located approximately 3 miles south of the center of Sonoita in the oak trees, but don't worry, you will still be able to enjoy incredible views of the Santa Rita Mountains and the beautiful sunsets. The location of Dogwood Flats is the perfect base of operation, whether you are here to enjoy some hiking, bird watching, wine tasting, hunting, or time at the nearby lakes.

THE SPACE
A cozy one-bedroom (king), one-bathroom guest house with a full kitchen. The sofa does pull out into a bed for additional sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is stocked with essential equipment should you wish to cook a meal, and a propane grill is available on the patio. There is no TV; however, we do have wifi, so you can bring your laptop or tablet should you want to watch a little TV or a movie. If you want to unplug, there are several board games and decks of cards for your entertainment.

OTHER INFORMATION
The welcoming committee consists of our "puppy girl," Rinella, who is a ball-crazy border collie and our friendly barn cat, Skittles. The guest house does have a fenced-in yard to keep our animals out of the area during your stay. If you forsee any issues, please let us know immediately.

Note: We are pet-friendly and have $25 pet fee. We ask that you do not leave your pets in the yard or the house unattended unless they are kenneled.

Hosts reside in the main house located on the property and may be seen tending to the landscaping, feeding the animals, or grilling on their back patio. We love interacting with our guests but will not approach you out of courtesy for your comfort and privacy. But please feel free to say hi or stop us if you would like to chat about the local sights or the property itself. We can also be contacted through VRBO during your stay. Guest instructions are sent directly to guests prior to arrival.

We didn't bring any pets, but the fenced-in yard would have been perfect for pets (or small children). We did get some visitors (sweet barn cats) that we enjoyed very much! Fully equipped kitchen with extra snacks. Great spot!

Short getaway to Sonoita AZ

The apartment was clean and comfortable. Great kitchen, if you feel like cooking. Ample dishes, utensils, glasses and pots. There was a generous basket with snacks, fresh flowers and a bottle of local wine. Ceiling fans and some lights had confusing handheld devices that we couldn’t figure out. Plenty of towels and small clean bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. WiFi was quick! The outside sitting area, fenced off from the main house was very small with no plants and trash cans smelly were attached to the fencing. The property is dog friendly, but be aware the family has barn cats that my dogs wanted to chase. Last I would have liked more privacy.

Clean, comfortable, quiet getaway with lots of endearing touches

This 1 bedroom/1 bath home was super clean, very comfortable and our hosts were very communicative, accommodating, helpful with information and friendly! Everything was spotless, super comfy bed and soft sheets, huge, cushy bath towels, great shower and water pressure and nice soap, shampoo and conditioner. Lots of toiletries in case you forgot something- very considerate. Everything you need in a kitchen- even a bag of ice in the freezer- and a pod AND drip coffee maker with sugar and creamer flavors. Shades kept out the light in the morning, the little patio was a nice place to sit in the morning sun. Plenty of interior lighting and great fans in the rooms. There's a big goodie basket full of snacks and even a fresh baked loaf of amazing "Butter Bread" which was similar to pound cake. There was no exterior noise- this rental home is next to a farmhouse a bit outside of Sonoita where the owners/hosts live. Very peaceful environment! Would definitely stay again- highly recommended.

Completely enjoyed my stay. Hosts were friendly and courteous. Cute home in beautiful area, felt very comfortable and welcomed. Cozy Home in a Peaceful Setting

My daughter and I booked this guest house as a home base during a weekend horse show. It was the perfect place to relax and get a good nights rest after the long days. The hosts were excellent, even going so far as to provide a basket of goodies that included snacks, a bottle of wine, and some delicious butter bread. It was also very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Awesome hosts and great location for Wineries!!

This was an awesome stay especially how close the location is to the different Wineries that my girlfriend and I went to. The host Jessica was super awesome! She was so nice to provide delicious snacks and a bottle of wine during our stay! The tortilla chips and salsa really came in handy after a few glasses of wine. The sweetest part was she baked us a homemade pound cake that was delicious! Thank you so much for that Jessica, we tried to stay as quiet as we could and Jessica was totally cool with me bringing my Husky / Golden retriever. We are definitely staying here in the future because we had an awesome time checking out the Sonoita wineries and Vineyards. Thanks again Jessica and look forward to staying here again for our next trip down to the wineries. I would highly recommend staying here at dogwood flats if you’re planning on checking out the wineries and vineyards!

Perfect spot!

lovely quiet get away

As we live in Tucson, July 4th is often loud and anxiety provoking (for my dog). We needed a get away and Dogwood Flats was perfect. The neighborhood is quiet and pastoral. The guesthouse was well appointed with games, snacks and all the various comforts of home. The host was gracious and easy to communicate with. We will be back.
