The former church of St Lawrence Perhaps the reason for there being two churches in close proximity to each other can be explained with the layout of paths and lanes, which may have made it convenient for worshippers of the two adjacent parishes to share a common churchyard. The former church of St Lawrence was gutted by fire in 1827 and after having been struck by lighning, its tower fell in 1971. The ruins have been restored and now serve as the parish hall. Lovely Rustic Charm, great next to the Broad, freedom to come & go -totally idyllic for me. Quiet, peaceful and commutable to local town, train station. Relaxing and would love to return. Basic but suitable cooking facilities, hot water, good shower, comfortable accommodation.

Had a studio apartment for two for just two nights. Accommodation very clean, with well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining seating and large comfortable bed. Sadly, the purpose of our trip was to attend a funeral, but would definitely return in happier circumstances.
