Cay Syrah is a newly constructed 4-bedroom villa (4 kings) offering 3,800 sq ft of air-conditioned living space plus expansive outdoor areas, including a pool deck with outdoor kitchen and a stunning rooftop sun & stargazing deck. Just 3 minutes from Cruz Bay on St. John’s west side, the villa features breathtaking views of Pillsbury Sound and sunsets over St. Thomas.

Designed for multi-generational groups, Cay Syrah is handicap-accessible with a ramp connecting levels, no-curb showers, grab bars, and accessible bathrooms. The chef’s kitchen boasts double ovens, two dishwashers, separate fridge and freezer, and seating for 12.

Enjoy the saltwater pool, gated for safety, and a spacious Tiki Hut bar perfect for evening gatherings. Ample parking included. Garden apartment available separately. Quiet hours 10 PM; guests remove trash.

Great retreat for 3 generations of family

Our family fit perfectly into the 6 bedrooms/5.5 bathrooms and the multiple gathering spaces. We enjoyed the antiques and furnishings, especially the dining room which seats 12. The shady pool was used every single day by our whole groupOur needs were anticipated and met with few exceptions. Dave made himself readily available to address any questions or concerns. Typical island issues such as satellite tv service, water pressure and power outages were overcome with solar power batteries and a little coordination of shower times. The only disappointment was the pool side kitchen. The grill, refrigerator and tv did not work for all or most of our stay. The most valuable benefit was the ADA compliance features. Accessibility via ramps, curbless showers, grab bars, wide doors, halls, etc. were much appreciated by all. Ramps allowed for easy movement of luggage, ice chests and people between levels. We assigned the younger family members to the apartment on the lowest level and they got their exercise moving up and down the 4 levels. Thanks to the owners for providing such a lovely home for us to use for 2 weeks.

We love Cay Syrah and so enjoyed the rooftop deck for early morning and evening times.

Our check in process was horrible...starting from the day before we arrived. I kept getting emails that were not answers to my mails, but gave answers to someone's else's questions. We basically got no directions to actually find the house. Jeanine was at the house waiting and spent less than 3 minutes with us once we finally found the place. didn't mention the outdoor shower was upstairs out front.There was no dishwashing pods. It would be so helpful to have had info about the trash process in the house book so se didn't have to bother the owners. Also about the TV system which kept turning off about 20 minutes into a movie. All that said, the house was well appointed and the location was absolutely perfect for us . We would rent here again...because everything I mentioned was not worth ruining a great vacation over, except maybe the check=in, non-welcoming welcome.

Great Stay

Pictures and description accurately described this rental. Was a great home for our week exploring St. John. The house was comfortable with plenty of room for all. We enjoyed the pool, the roof deck for sunsets, and hanging out in all of the outdoor spaces. The house was well equipped with all we needed for an easy vacation. Check in was simple, the suggestions for transportation and binder with excursion ideas was super useful. Would definitely stay here again.

Good for family or large group

Common areas of this house (dinning, living room and kitchen) are spacious and well equipped. The outdoor balcony has a large dining type table making it easy for a large group (up to 20 or so) to dine. House has 3 washers and 3 dryers, refrigerator and freezer are restaurant sized (twice normal size)?and two dish washers. Pool is one level down (same level as 3 bedrooms) but off to the side. Ample parking (5-6 vehicles) House is very well equipped.

Great gathering spaces

Our family met in St John for a wedding. Cay Syrah looks exactly like the listing photos with three levels for gathering or finding quiet time. Bedrooms are very comfortable and kitchen is incredibly stocked. Arrival at the ferry dock is always chaotic, and with the new “no parking” rule for picking up passengers, we were so grateful to be greeted by Shannon. She escorted us to the villa and showed us around—super helpful. Property manager Justin was very responsive. Want to highlight the family friendly pool, which has shady spots throughout the day and is secured behind a gate.

Caribbean getaway

The property was beautiful with lots of amenities. The pool and rooftop deck were the main gathering spots for out family. Huge kitchen was a big plus. I rated the neighborhood a four as there is still recovery work needed on some of the surrounding properties, but I would happily stay there again. High end finishes and furniture on the upper stories. The apartment was not of the same quality and its plumbing in particular could use some attention.

Great multi-generational home!

We had a wonderful time at Cay Syrah! Our group ranged in age from 13 to 90. and the house was perfect. It was close enough to Cruz Bay to be able to drive there easily, but removed enough to be able to enjoy the quiet (except for the roosters, but they are part of the scenery). The pool was larger than we expected from the pictures, and a perfect retreat after a day on the beach. The property managers were very responsive - we had 2 very minor issues, and they had someone at the house almost immediately. Our girls were not comfortable in the garden apartment - exterior entrance and spotty wifi, so my husband and I moved down there. We enjoyed the privacy, but it is not quite the quality of the upper two floors. Overall, perfect place for a large family. If we are fortunate enough to return to St John, we would definitely stay at Cay Syrah. Thank you for an unforgettable vacation!

Beautiful and spacious property, but some things you should be aware of…

First, the property is reliably suited for 8 guests on the first 2 floors. The apartment was really only usable for sleeping, and not comfortably if the power is out (which is common in STJ!) as the battery backup system does not supply power to the apartment. That was pretty frustrating and made for some very hot, uncomfortable nights without AC. Or water. Also, the water pressure in the apartment was a trickle- not sure if that’s a normal feature, or we were just unlucky. Second, the location of the property and proximity to other villas makes for a very noisy setting. We could hear everything going on at the neighboring villas, even normal noise-level conversation. Parties next door were pretty obnoxious. The plus sides- it is a very spacious villa, so we had plenty of room to spread out and not feel like we were tripping over each other. The kitchen has 2 dishwashers, which is awesome after a big meal. The sun deck was wonderful for sunsets, sunbathing, and star gazing! Truly a great spot! The pool was perfect for the kids who hadn’t had their fill of splashing after leaving the beach each day. Lastly, the host and maintenance manager were very responsive and helpful. Thanks again, guys!

Amazing location, views and space.

The views on the roof are amazing; we would go sit and watch the sunrise as well as the sunset. The house was perfect for our large group since everyone got their own king bed and private bathroom! The pool is in the shade in the afternoon which was a great treat because we were in the sun all day. The house is a 5 minute taxi ride from the ferry pickup, so convenient! The house was clean, spacious and overall perfect. We will definitely stay here again!

Perfection in Cay Syrah

Beautiful home, all amenities included, great location close to Cruz Bay, everything you need for a perfect getaway. Loved viewing sunsets on the rooftop. Fun dips in the pool after a day at the beach. Great evenings around the tiki bar. Plenty of space for our party of 12. Would recommend to everyone!

Gorgeous Cruz Bay Rental

We had such a wonderful family vacation at Cay Syrah! The home is at least as lovely as the pictures if not more. It's well-stocked with kitchen and beach things, and has plenty of room for even very large groups. We were a group of 8, including small children, and everyone had room to spread out and enjoy. Highlights included dinners at the huge patio dining table and watching sunsets and shooting stars from the roof deck. We hope to return soon!

Cay Syrah: What will be, is good times!

We were a group of five couples celebrating an anniversary. We needed a house large enough for everyone to have their privacy, but with plenty of congregate space for partying. Cay Syrah fit the bill perfectly and actually exceeded our expectations--the VRBO doesn't do it justice. The upper deck is wonderful for star gazing, while the lower level tiki bar is tons of fun too. But the gallery porch off of the main level received the most time. Bedrooms and baths were fine and kitchen quite serviceable. The pool would benefit from some tree-trimming to enhance the view but otherwise was great. Location proximate to Cruz Bay is ideal.

Beach trip

The home was in a great location and very well stocked. The communication was excellent. I would say the house was just as described if not better. We were there with friends to celebrate my husbands 60th and it couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend.

A tropical oasis

This house was an amazing experience, from when you first walk in to see the panoramic views of Cruz Bay, to all the different levels of living space. It’s spacious and private for a group of friends/family. Everyone has their own bathroom! The pool and outdoor area were great to hang out in, and the rooftop terrace is the best place to watch sunsets! The kitchen was stocked with all the materials we needed to cook breakfast and dinner. Wish we could be back in paradise!

Wonderful house!!

We had nine people and the house was perfect. Stargazing deck was a nightly experience. Beautiful sunsets and stars. Plenty of spaces to spend together but we had room to separate for alone time. Highly recommend this house.
