”Very nice place but not ideal for when the weather is hot, no fan and poor ventilation, so uncomfortable could not sleep prior to climbing Schafel Pike the next day. Otherwise food and service was excellent. Bathroom was newly renovated”

”The hostel is cozy, located close to the lake, and within a short drive or a hike from Scafell. The food at the restaurant is fantastic. There is also a kitchen which can be used to cook your own food. The staff are all very friendly.”

”Amazing location and amazing hotel. We loved our stay however it could do with some refurbishment. It is a dog friendly place so maybe could do with a deep clean in the restaurant area. The food was good but all the dog hair everywhere was a bit unpleasant. However we would still come back.”

”The hotel is in a lovely place facing the sea with areas to walk. A few minutes walk from the railway museum and train rides to a beautiful area. The only thing I was unhappy with was that not all the staff worked as a team at meal times. The rooms, facilities and amenities were all lovely. Staff were approachable.”

”Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. They're improving the hotel with new decor and have great attention to detail so I'm sure once finished it will be amazing. It's location is...

”Wonderfully authentic Lakeland Inn.Our stay was peaceful with so many opportunities for walks straight from the door.Limited options available for dinner, would have appreciated more choices.cooked breakfast was very good but some yoghurt, fruit would have been welcome.Selection of beers at the bar was very good.The staff work extremely hard but we thought an extra member of staff would have helped to reduce waiting times at dinner and breakfast”

”Lovely place with good facilities, older property so our room was spacious, bed comfortable and good bathroom. A little noisy for the dog as we were on the ground floor next to reception. Limited parking outside the property but able to park across the road overnight until 10:00 am. Overall lovely stay.”
