First time we've stayed here since Doubletree by Hilton have taken over the building.
Our room was clean, and shower good, but bottom of the shower screen leaked badly so by the time you finished showering, you had a massive puddle on the floor at the side of the toilet.
When we checked in, we were asked by the receptionist what time we would like breakfast, but it was obvious the following morning that there was no real system in place; the restaurant was full to capacity, we were asked to use a table in the bar, and several people had to wait for a table to become available....what was the point of being asked what time we would be taking breakfast?
Also, the layout didn't seem to work. We have stayed at the Doubletree in Ealing on numerous occasions, and never seen such queues for food. In addition, it was noted that pastries were being kept warm right next to cooked bacon. This meant that splashes from bacon fat were landing on the pastries as people helped themselves - not good for those that are vegetarian! To be fair, we did mention this to a member of staff, who went to the kitchen and brought a fresh one out. I don't believe that such items should be right next to meat products like this and should have an area separate where there is no risk of cross-contamination.
In summary - ok, but could be much better!
