”Easy check-in, excellent staff, good bar area (again, excellent staff). Very good food, super local brews. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Oh, and nice beer garden to boot. Would come here again and, if I lived locally, it would definitely be a regular haunt. Staff are superb.”

”Generally the rooms are to a high standard. The breakfasts are excellent, and the staff really friendly. Easy car parking. Only quibble is that we tried to book another 2 day stay, the system didn’t allow this - wanted 3 or more: this may vary with time of year.”

”As basic as they get. Just enough to meet your needs for 1 or 2 nights. The price felt fair for what you got…a bed, shower and tv. Having said that, the mattress needs replacing and the shower had no soap in it.”

”After driving seven hours I arrived only to be told by a receptionist with a passing acquaintance with English, that the room was no longer available. Due to the sizeable event I was attending all the other hotels in the area were full, so I drove back the same night. Not quite living up to their mission statement hung on the wall which states they aim to ensure the happiness of all guests.”

”We stayed in a comfortable twin room at the Hand Hotel with a view across the river. One of the beds was slightly tilted due to the sloping floor which could have been easily corrected by using feet raisers on two of the bed legs.”

”Premises would be best described as Runmere MOTEL. The accommodation block is detatched and across the car park from main reception area. OK if you like US style Motel accommodation, I personally din't and would not have booked if I had been aware of this. Rooms are very basic, but adequate. Location is two minutes away from Railway station so very good for transport links. Staff were very friendly, accommodating, polite and attentive. ”It was easy to self check in and the room had everything needed for a great stay including the breakfast box. We took the dog with us and the room was ideal with plenty of room for us. We didn't see any staff as all the information was sent via phone. The staff member I spoke to on the phone to add the dog was very helpful and efficient. Lovely place to stay.”

”Beautiful place in a lovely part of the world. Lakes and ponds with gardens. On-site spa with its own peace gardens with loungers (and waterfall!). The spa is worth a visit alone. Nice room, nice catering (we were at a wedding held onsite). Room had great air on/heating and good brew facilities. The shower and bath was epic for the price we paid. Will absolutely return. Only downside was checking in. I was not acknowledged, so began checking myself in electronically- then I was acknowledged...

”It wasn't anything the website said. Didn't get a very good welcome. The outside signage said luxury bed and breakfast it wasn't, it was very basic. Room was small and hot, no window to open. No toiletries. The sink was tiny so couldn't fill the kettle.”
