”I have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions and do so because I have confidence that it will be clean and well maintained. This is in contrast to a number of occasions where I have experienced disappointment when staying at other hotels. The general amenity of the Gateway is extremely pleasant and the staff have managed a relaxing and comfortable public area.”

”House is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise. There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...

We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. ”Lovely staff and spa facilities”

”Nice location (quite remote and quiet) and friendly staff. Some gaps in the breakfast service, e.g. lacking glasses, plates etc. And the breakfast ended already at 9 which was very early for me. The condition of the hotel was quite worn-out and occasionally dirty, there were several spiderwebs and spiders in the hallway and the smell of our room was musty. ”

”The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with some updating. Several significant cracks in the walls and evidence of water leaks around the heated towel rail and over bath shower head was leaking water out when running the bath taps. We only had one night so not really an issue for us.”

”We had a wonderful stay in June in the woodlands chalet which featured a big hot tub and a huge comfy bed. The chalet was clean and modern, with all the essentials you could want provided such as tea, milk, biscuits and dishwashing liquid. The staff were all wonderful. We found our private courtyard with the hot tub was hot upon arrival and a great afternoon suntrap. It's just a 10 minute walk to local restaurants, cafes, cute shops, a bakery, a fantastic deli and some pubs. There is a train...
