Cottage #12 - Quaint, clean, comfortable cottage just 20 miles from Key West. Bring the family. Located on a compound with 2 swimming pools. Spacious cottage offers a full kitchen, screened patio, two queen bedrooms. This cottages is only steps away from our pool. The pool, dock and seawall are all available to our guests. A coin laundry is also available on site. Whether you come to the Florida Keys to escape the winters, or enjoy the calm waters and great fishing and diving of the summers, you will find Cudjoe Oceanside Cottage to be your Home Away From Home.

The location was hard to find, poorly lit. Outside light did not work. Needs to be finished remodeled. Bathroom door would not shut, its doorknob was loose. Shower faucet was loose and hard to work. Kitchen did not have sufficient glasses and plates. Dish towels had holes in them. Furniture and beds were wore out and uncomfortable. Pillows need replaced. Need curtains on bedroom windows. Blinds do not keep out light and heat. Had to call air conditioner was not cooling. Repair person came next morning.

Worst beds ever. My back still hurts.

We had to hand wash dishes before we used anything and scrub utensils. Some were too rusty to even use but had no choice. The floors are clean and beds are made, yes.The toilet ran constantly and the bathroom door handle is rusted off. The place is just run down and not taken care of for the price paid. You’re definitely paying for location and beauty of the Keys for sure.

Perfect Getaway

This rental is in a perfect, peaceful location! We brought our paddleboards and fishing poles and enjoyed the Florida sun. Great getaway - we will definitely be back!

Comfortable Cottage

We enjoyed our stay on Cudjoe Key. The cottage felt like 'old Florida' and, while slightly dated, was clean and comfortable. We appreciated the access to Key West without the crowds or noise, so this quieter stay was ideal. We especially enjoyed morning coffee on the screened porch and sitting on the dock to look at the stars.

Get what you pay for

We were hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but instead were left a little disappointed. The Good: Location was great, we enjoyed sitting by the water and watching the sunrise. The set of cottages feels private and isolated from the busy road. Kitchen appliances and bedrooms were clean and useable.The Rest: Cabin needs basic maintenance and upkeep. Bathroom doorknob was coming apart, and kitchen cabinets were peeling. The walls/doors are kind of grimy and it's apparent that these things aren't part of the routine cleaning process. Kitchen supplies were minimal, but did have very basic set of dishes and a coffee maker with coffee cups. Laundry facility that was found onsite was sketchy and we chose to re-wear rather than wash clothes. There was only one washcloth for the bathroom and no dish clothes for washing dishes. Something that might be helpful to note is that there is only 1 TV, not a big deal for us but good to know if you're expecting bedroom TVs. Worked for our last minute girl's weekend trip, but wouldn't consider it a great option for a week with the full family.

Save your money

The listing photographer must have been a magician because is was not the unit we thought we were staying in. Floors were so uneven you felt drunk walking room to room. Most of the doors need repair because they rubbed on the floor so bad you had to lean into them. All of the mini blind adjustment wands were either broke of missing. The mattresses appeared to be cheap futon mattresses. They only provide 1 roll of single ply toilet paper and you are instructed to bring any extra. Bathroom sink is so close to the toilet that you smash your left elbow into it using the toilet. My wife needed extra towels which took a day and a half to get and when we finally got them, they stunk so bad of cleaning chemicals that i had to put them out on the porch. You are instructed to clean any pots and dishes you used but no dishwasher detergent is provided. We had to buy our own. Our unit appeared to be held together with 20 pounds of caulk (i build high end homes,i know construction). We've stayed at 4 star all inclusive resorts for what this cost. Find a host that cares about your stay.

Relaxation Seeker

This place is about as laid back as you can get in the Keys. We love coming here, but it's a no frills existence and normally very peaceful. There's no housekeeping. Once you've blown thru some basic household supplies, you're on your own. With ample help from the property manager, eventually, the cottage had everything you might need for a home away from home.

This property is clean and adequate. Close to the lower keys, and easy to get to the upper keys and back. The listing indicates that there is a washer and dryer; however, these are coin-operated and in a different part of the compound, not in the unit. There has been road work done in the area, so the driveway was not easy to find by using the directions listed. All-in-all, not bad!

It's a good quiet place about 20 miles from Key West. The property itself has seen its best years-- it has aged now but functional. The entrance is a bit tricky to find, right off of the highway. Overall a good place if you don't mind driving back and forth between Key West attractions.

Beautiful location, run down cottage.

All directions were spot on for the location. The cottage was just so run down and left in a long ago time period. It has such potential but it is really run down. The whole cottage and outside areas. It's too bad because it could be so great!toobad. Could be so great
