What We Love

The Art House is a newly built (2023) architectural home on a quiet enclave street in Alexandria, Sydney, shortlisted for both the Houses Awards and the Australian Interior Design Awards in 2024. It sleeps up to 6 guests across two king bedrooms and a double bedroom, with two bathrooms (both with underfloor heating), a separate study with skylight, a private internal courtyard with alfresco dining, and a secure parking space behind an electric gate. It sits about 4 kilometres south of the Sydney CBD, close to Sydney Park and The Grounds of Alexandria.

It suits families and groups of friends, two couples travelling together, corporate guests and remote workers needing a dedicated study and quick access to the CBD and airport, and longer stays, with a Miele kitchen and full laundry.

Upper Floor
The main bedroom has a king bed, a walk-in wardrobe with full-height mirror and a built-in dressing table. A separate study with a skylight leads to the ensuite, which has a curved shower, skylight, freestanding bath and underfloor heating. Air conditioning keeps this level comfortable year-round.

Ground Floor
Bedroom two has a king bed, a full-height wardrobe, a ceiling fan, a Nobo panel heater and a view over the internal courtyard. Bedroom three has a double bed with the same modern finishes. The main bathroom has a stand-alone rain shower and underfloor heating. The industrial-style kitchen is made for cooking, with two Miele fridges, a Miele combi oven, a warming drawer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, rice cooker and blender, plus a ZIP tap with hot, chilled and sparkling water on demand. The dining and lounge areas are air conditioned, and open to the private internal courtyard with alfresco dining. The laundry has a washer and heat pump dryer.

- The Grounds of Alexandria: Part café, part urban garden, part market, and a family favourite with great food and seasonal events throughout the year.
- Carriageworks: In nearby Eveleigh, this multi-arts centre hosts contemporary performances and exhibitions, and a much-loved farmers market on Saturdays.
- Fun & Games: Holy Moly offers themed mini golf, karaoke and a bar, great for groups of friends and family outings.
- Cafés & Restaurants: Alexandria's industrial past has made it one of Sydney's most interesting neighbourhoods, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Buses and Green Square Station connect you to the CBD and the airport, Uber and GoGet car share are readily available, and your secure parking space means you can bring your own car.

Home Truths

- Air conditioning is in the dining area, kitchen, lounge and main bedroom only. The ground floor bedrooms have ceiling fans for cooling and panel heaters for warmth.
- The home is set over two levels, with stairs between floors.
- The back gate is currently out of service and is resting in the open position. A privacy curtain is in place, and the laneway behind is quiet and private.
- The letterbox is not available during short-term stays.
- The bathroom exhaust fans are silent, so you may not hear them when they are on.
- This is a smoke-free property, and pets are not permitted.
