#1 Don't Stay Here! #2 Thank God that VRBO protects their renters!
The description of the property does not reflect what I encountered. The property is in a very rough neighborhood, and the description of it being culturally diverse is a stretch unless the diversity consists of drug addicts, prostitutes and unsheltered. The property next door and others on the street had boarded up windows. The street looked very unsafe. This was not gentrification in process but unfortunately a neighborhood in distress.
We proceeded to unload and put our food and clothing away. As I went into the smaller bedroom to hang up my clothes, I saw a MOUSE running through the house. It ran from the bedroom and into the living room. It was at that moment that I decided we had to leave this property and that I was going to go to the Marriott. I sent the owner a note through the app and she very kindly told me that they take precautionary and deep cleaning measures and if we were uncomfortable that we could cancel the reservation. When I went to cancel the reservation, the app communicated that a refund was not possible so I asked the owner to help with getting my refund. She very kindly told me no because the refunds are strictly non-refundable and those dates were reserved for me. I told her that this was an extenuating circumstance and that I hoped she would help. She did not but after 2 hours with VRBO and supplying documentation including a picture of the RAT box outside the home they were able to help. Just beware of this place.
