I recently stayed at Hanns House Taipei, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing.
After a 14-hour flight, I arrived around 1:30 PM and appreciated that the hotel allowed early check-in. However, when I woke up later that evening, I discovered the toilet seat in my room had not been properly cleaned. Since it was already late, I chose not to call housekeeping and ended up cleaning it myself.
The bigger issue was a misleading promotion on the hotel’s website. The promotion page stated that guests staying two nights would receive two bowls of beef noodle soup. I even took a screenshot of the page. The advertisement did not mention that the promotion only applied to bookings made directly through the hotel. When I asked the front desk, I was told the offer did not apply because my reservation was made through Expedia.
After several emails discussing the issue, the hotel removed the promotion from their website but still refused to honor it. The responses I received felt dismissive and did not reflect the level of service expected from a 4-star hotel.
The value of the soup (around TWD 400) is insignificant compared to the approximately TWD 11,000 per night room rate. This was never about the money—it was about transparency and customer service. Instead of resolving the issue with a simple gesture of goodwill, the hotel chose to argue the point and deny responsibility.
I travel frequently and have stayed in many hotels, but this is one of the most disappointing
