Baymont by Wyndham Tallahassee – Extremely Disappointing Stay
I stayed at this property last week and was very disappointed with nearly every aspect of the experience. The room itself did not feel clean: the floor was visibly dirty, and the A/C filter was extremely filthy, which made me question how well the room was being maintained overall. There was also a constant humming noise coming from the bathroom area that never stopped, making it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep.
The complimentary continental breakfast was also underwhelming. The coffee was easily the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel — it was a thick black liquid that smelled like burned tar and was completely undrinkable. Even simple items like bananas were past their prime and already brown, which again raised concerns about basic standards.
The location added to the discomfort. The surrounding area is filled with abandoned hotels and did not feel safe to walk around after dark, which is not what you want when you’re traveling and hoping for a peaceful place to stay.
To top it off, the hotel placed a $50 incidental charge on my credit card and never credited it back after checkout. Having to chase down a basic refund for incidentals is frustrating, especially after an already poor stay.
Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. Between the cleanliness issues, noise, low-quality breakfast, unsafe-feeling surroundings, and unresolved incidental charge, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
