Our 70’s themed home is perfect for a solo or couples trip, looking to get away from the regular day-to-day hustle. Rest, recharge your batteries, and enjoy the Florida sunshine during your stay!
Spend time in the comfy, but funky living room and dining room area of the home, while catching up on your favorite Netflix shows or playing board games found in the TV console! Cook up a delightful meal in the fully stocked, retro kitchen.
When you’re ready to take a break from your busy life, curl up under the covers of the spacious queen sized bed equipped with a comfortable memory foam mattress.
The bathrooms provide shampoo and conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, and extra towels, everything you need for a perfect stay! Can you dig it?

Walking just a few blocks will take you to coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and many other local favorites.
A short Uber ride of about five to ten minutes will get you to Busch Gardens, Downtown Tampa, Channelside, Armature Works, Hyde Park, South Tampa, The Port, Tampa International Airport, Lowry Park Zoo, The Aquarium, Raymond James Stadium, Amalie Arena, The Straz Center, and SO much more. This house is very centrally located.

Guest Access:
For parking, you have two options:
1) You can park behind Groovy Getaway. There are two spots there and yours is to the left alongside the wall. To access this you will enter through the alleyway behind the home and turn right into your dedicated parking space alongside the wall.
2) There is abundant street parking in front of the house that you can always use!
Guests have access to the entire home! Enter through the front door of the groovy bungalow and tap in your keyless entry code and voila, you’ve arrived at your home away from home!
Guests have additional access to shared spaces such as the large yard, picnic table and washer/dryer shared by all three units on the property.
This is Seminole Heights, otherwise known as the foodie district. You will be five to ten minutes from the port, the airport, Downtown, Channelside, Ybor, Busch Gardens and SO MUCH MORE!
The Neighborhood:
This home is located in the highly sought after historic district of Seminole Heights. The quiet cobblestone streets make the perfect place for an evening stroll to a local restaurant or bar. Seminole Heights is known also as the foodie district of Tampa, and is central to all Tampa has to offer.
Getting Around:
The Groovy Getaway has lots of street parking. You can also park behind the Groovy Getaway where you’ll find a left spot alongside the wall dedicated to guests.
To access this guests should enter through the alleyway behind the home and turn right into one of the two spaces.
ALSO we like to let all guests know that Tampa can be challenging to walk because all of the different neighborhoods are spread throughout the city.
Many of us will use an Uber or Lyft to get around. Everything within the city is about 10-15 minutes away but walking can become pretty challenging in the heat.
Other Things to Note:
Please note the following:
1. Florida is Tropical. In such an environment, we frequently encounter local wildlife which includes insects. Our home is well maintained and treated regularly to reduce bug encounters . However, we cannot control the occasional bug creeping in to say hello or found dead (this a good sign as the place is treated). Unfortunately, we will not issue a refund for the occasional dead or live bug. It's Florida and that’s part of our environment. If you happen to see a bug just let us know and we can spray for you! We do not foresee this being an issue during your stay but we must mention it.
2. This is a 1920s Bungalow and comes with quirks and charm. Sometimes 100 year old homes aren’t right for everyone. Please send us a message if you have any questions or are in doubt about your booking.
3. This home is a guest house on a large lot with two additional homes located on the same property.
4. The washer / dryer is located outside on the back porch of the main house. This is a shared space that the additional 3 units have access to on the property and you will see a clear sign that says "Laundry Room"! We offer free Laundry Detergent inside your unit for your convenience and use. We ask that you use the washer/dryer between the hours of 8:00AM - 9:00PM to respect the other guests during their stay.
5. No keys to lose or to return — woohoo! You can enter with your personal smart lock code that will be sent to you in a message after you book!
6. We do politely ask guests to respect quiet hours from 11pm-8am both inside and outside for our neighbors.
7. We created a list of our favorite places to eat, drink and hang out for you! You’ll receive a digital copy of our “My Tampa Guidebook” in your AirBnB inbox.
Our Policies:
NO PETS ON FURNITURE: We know you love your animals, but we kindly ask that you keep them off of our furniture as it can leave a smell, stains and hair that is hard to remove.
NO SMOKING INSIDE: Please refrain from smoking inside the home! Any smoking evidence will result in a fee for odor removal, duct cleaning, and furniture cleaning.
NO PARTIES/EVENTS: We kindly ask you to treat our home as your own to preserve its pristine condition for future guests and your return visits.
