Erittäin viihtyisä hotelli kaupungin parhaalla paikalla. Mahtava näköala merenpuoleisista huoneista ja ulos mentäessä olet suoraan kävelykadun parhaalla paikalla. Todella hyvä aamupala. Upea uima-allas ja allasalue. Palvelualtis ja ystävällinen henkilökunta. Kaikinpuolin oikea luxushotelli.

Perfect location
The Hotel Metropole was terrific. Lovely rooms. Lovely staff. VERY central location. The trick is, however, that if you drive to Taormina things get... complicated. It is not a place for cars. If you stay at the Metropole, the entrance is on a walk street. So you MUST call them a few minutes before you arrive so they can greet you in the back on the edge of a cliff and then whisk your car away. It's kind of fun, actually, but it's not what people are used to.

Bait and switch
Honestly felt like we got scammed. We booked a Suite with a balcony, but the room we got couldn't have been more different from the pictures. The pictures showed a split level room with a living area on the lower floor including a sofa and a desk then a balcony. The actual room (room 7) instead had a corridor with a bath in the corner (very strange) then opened to a balcony. Then a mezzanine with a bed, which had no windows or any kind of natural light. There was no sofa, no desk and no separate living space, hence definitely not a 'suite'. When we asked the hotel about this they said that some rooms were indeed better than others and that the rooms in the pictures were reserved for guests who booked directly with the hotel and not available via hotels.com, Expedia etc. Hence the scam, since these are the very photos they are using to advertise these rooms on those sites. Other annoying things made this a very sub par stay, such as no ability to turn off the lights on the balcony meaning the rooms were bright all night long, no coffee making facilities in the room, and a general wear and tear for all the furniture in the room.

This hotel is just perfect. It is not too big or too small. The location is the best. The staff is great and very helpful. The food and drinks are amazing. We will definitely come back again. We highly recommend it. You will love it!!!

Good location, hotel can do better
Great location, with very nice pool & breakfast service personnel. Breakfast food is great, the restaurant is nice, but the cocktails are not up to the quality standards. Unfortunately the front desk also is not up to the 5* quality. They are quite difficult to communicate with - e.g. they will tell you they will call when the taxi is there and never do (we had to pay extra because he had to wait so long). We asked for housekeeping not to come in every day, they still did. Overall front desk was unfriendly to us.

The location is excellent and the views are spectacular. The bellhops, bartenders and restaurant staff are courteous and pleasant. Check-in was horrific and front desk staff was rude and obnoxious.

Amazing location and Marija at breakfast was SO SO nice and accommodating :) :). We also checked in with an extremely friendly man who I did not get the name of unfortunately. Our only complaint was the lack of USB ports for charging devices. We bought something on the street which unfortunately didn’t work (our fault for buying it off the street), but charging devices was difficult. Amber at the front desk was also not as helpful or friendly as the others we came in contact with .

Beautiful hotel in a great location with a delicious breakfast. The hotel lacks some of the basics that any even 4 star hotel absolutely requires: coffee machine in the room (even upon request), blackout blinds (be prepared to be woken up before 6am from bright sunshine). The staff also lied over the phone and later in person about free parking (there is parking but far from free). Nice bar but incredibly overpriced (EUR 25 for the most basic drinks). Restaurant so overpriced that's it pretty much empty.

About the coffee machine in the room, it is a service that until now we have provided at the request of the customer because we do not believe that the use of dishes in the room is always hygienic.As far as concerns the Car Park, when you make your reservation, you can see on Expedia the cost of it. The location of our garage and the cost are clearly explained on your booking channel.Our Bar and our Restaurant are in line with the prices of all the 5 stars hotels in the world. The Basic Drink costs Euro 22,00. The Signature Cocktail costs Euro 25,00.However, we accept your disappointment and apologize if we failed to do our best.We really want to take care of our customers experiences and feedback like yours is very important to us to improve the guests' experience. We hope you will give us the opportunity to do our best next time you come in Sicily.

As this portion of my trip was my first time and experience in both Taormina and Sicily, so far it has been hard to top. I can not say enough good things about the quality of the hotel, the professionalism of the staff, and the other amazing guests whom stayed at the hotel. The Metropole itself is not only stunning, but the view overlooking Taormina is breathtaking. They have a variety of different types of rooms to choose from to suit your needs. The surrounding area is a plus being so central in the center of Taormina. There’s a cable car nearby however the staff graciously can reserve a car service at the time you desire to get to and from the hotel easily. My time in the Metropole was by far one of the best experiences I have had in Italy. I will definitely be back soon.

Driving Skills Required
The hotel is situated on the side of a cliff and getting there was challenging, but we had a great view of Mount Edna from our balcony. The location was very good. The staff were helpful and the breakfast location was especially nice, as we could look out to the sea.

We love the location in Taormina. The restaurant & bar has the best view, as does the infinity pool. A wonderful and relaxing oasis.

Lovely hotel, stunning location, not 5*
This is a lovely hotel in a truly stunning location. The views are spectacular from every deck. However, I do not feel it warrants 5 star classification. Just a lack of attention to detail and the little things that go a long way. The service was ok but certainly not great (unless you were Italian).
