Above the Trough On the White Moor track looking back over the Trough of Bowland through which flows the Marshaw Wyre. Looking over the pines to Hawthornthwaite Fell. Plenty of mole activity in the fields now that the frost has gone.

By the Marshaw Wyre A popular pic nic spot on the trough road by the banks of the Wyre. I recall the whole family, primus stove, little tables and crockery, chairs and rugs by the bank in the early 60's on summer weekends.

The hotel was very beautiful old building. The apartment was spatious, bathrooms were very nice, but the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the temperature in the room was too high. Windows couldn't be kept open because of the terrible smell from the cows next to the hotel!
