”Location was great, we stayed in the tail end of the plan, for tall people remember to bob down as we smacked our heads on a regular basis. Basic accommodation but it had a fridge, small kitchen area shower and toilet. ”

”Fantastic Apartment, nicely furnished. Location was amazing, very peaceful and quiet. Nice and close to waitomo caves, and 10 minutes from either Te Kuiti or Otorohanga. Brenda and Andrew were lovely hosts. The dogs were very kind, esepcially Tilly, she demands many belly rubs. The recently installed Air-Con was a godsend for summer time. My Fiancee and I had a wonder 2 nights here. ”

”The lovely, friendly, man at the desk was very welcoming, and offered great advice on what was in the area to visit, etc, i.e. attractions and eateries. For our one night stay, the unit was very clean, tidy, comfortable, and offered everything we needed. We will be back again and would love to stay longer. Thank you xxx”

”For us Americans, this was close to glamping! Off the grid, very picturesque, a little rough around the edges, but to be expected. The host was very helpful and provided us eggs and delicious plums! Traffic noise was a little high, but did not stop us from sleeping. ”

”This accommodation is definitely overpriced. Wherever I looked, I saw dirt. In the curtains, in the shower curtains, in the furniture... I think that this holiday park should either reduce the prices 50% or do a proper face lift to the rooms (or at least clean them up!!) And on the top of everything we needed to wash our own dishes. What an earth? I don't understand the price of the accommodation. With that price you should get more than a filthy room and self-service of washing dishes. The...

”Mel’s Retreat was a very comfortable Suite to stay. Beautiful area, well furnished suite, and well worth the stay. Mel had more than one could ask for for a continental breakfast.Well worth the stay. Only thing I would comment on is it is a little tight for space.”
