  • The Rio Grande River winds 12 miles down Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park, Texas. When the water is high you can come down the 1,500 foot walled canyon. With less water flowing, guides take you 3 to 4 miles up the canyon with some spots having to portage. But take it all in stride because the views are breathtaking. I recommend Big Bend River Tours. You might get lucky and have the guides that take you a half mile up a side canyon. An excellent day excursion in the out of the way national park.

  • The Closed Canyon hike in Big Bend Ranch State Park was completely deserted when we went on a Tuesday in April. We hiked further than the 0.7 mile indicated on the signage, and ended up scooting and scrambling up the most interesting narrow and smooth chutes. We heard the song of the elusive canyon wren, too. Amazing. Nothing fancy, but a homey and comfortable place for a single person or couple to spend a night or two. Comfortable bed, kitchen with much-appreciated coffee makings and some cooking supplies included. Very close to the entrance to Big Bend National Park. RV park location was quiet and close to a few places to eat, buy groceries or fill up on (very expensive) gas.

Easy access to Big Bend NP. No amenities at the campground but the camper itself was very nice. Clean and comfortable. The king bed was extremely comfy and the host provided a cute little coffee bar. Convenient to restaurants and a grocery across the street.

Crystal's RV was a perfect place to stay to visit Big Bend National Park. The grocery store across the street is really well stocked and the RV had everything we needed. I recommend arriving before sundown because it was hard to find the RV in the dark.

Amazing host, fantastic location near Big Bend NP!

This property is everything you’d need if traveling to Big Bend NP. Host was AMAZING in her commutation before and during the stay. The trailer was spotless and cozy. The nearby restaurants were all A. Thinking about it, there was nothing about this property I would change. Thank you so much for helping to make this an incredible trip!

3 days in Big Bend

The camper is cozy and the ac worked great! I planned this trips months out so if I had known you had to turn on and off the hot water heater I would not have picked this camper. Also, with the use of propane I was disappointed to find a broken co2 detector. Hopefully, the owner has fixed that issue. Crystal responded as quickly as possible bc of signal issue in a remote area. The broken detector wouldn’t have been so bad if I could have opened any windows in the camper. Over all, I was happy with my proximity to the park and the overall safety of the RV park. The bed was also very comfortable although the cabinets above the bed would have been a problem if I was tall. Wherever you stay make sure to eat at the Starlight theater and long draw pizza! .

I liked that the RV was well kept and clean. Also, had all the needed items for the stay in bathroom, kitchen and bedroom.
