”We had a good stay at the HGI in Gastonia. Generally clean, with some signs of wear in the room, but otherwise fine. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful at the front desk (Crystal was a standout- VERY nice!). The bartender was also nice and helpful when kids in our group wanted to order food. The lounge areas outside and in the lobby were good for adult hangouts. The ONLY things we didn't love were that the pool area was SO loud that we ended up leaving when a group of about 7...

”Before I start this review I would like to give a very special shout out to Eddie the staff member at this location. If it wasn't for him my score would have been lower. He was very kind, helpful, and hard working. He went over and beyond to assist me. He was very informative. He needs to be the executive manager here and I'm sure the place would do better. ”I didn’t wake up for the continental breakfast. I work until around midnight so I usually sleep from 3 until between 10 & 11 am. The hotel was pretty beat up and there has been what looks like quite a bit of vandalism. Some of the doors on the third floor look like they had been kicked in and didn’t look very secure.
