”The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.”

”The property is lovely but as you would expect with a historic home it was missing some modern conveniences. There weren’t enough plug ins for all your electronic devices to charge by the bed. There is some signs of foundation issues and the room we stayed in was pretty small with the bathroom being a bit bigger than two phone booths. Overall it was charming but I was glad we only were staying one night.”

”Great place but unable to give 5 stars. Felt a bit misled by listing as it says bed and breafast which details a fresh made breakfast. No where does it state they do not offer it daily. Would have been nice to know in advance as it was our first bed and breakfast experience and it lacked the breakfast. Othe than that the place is amazing. Only complaint about room is the original hollow core doors which do nothing to block noise. All in all an absolutely beautiful place.”
