”Having booked last minute I hadn't realised I had booked an upstairs room as someone who uses crutches this was soon changed to a down stairs room , bed linen all clean, lovely white fluffy towels , toiletries , tea , coffee, milk etc . After a long drive and arriving at 8.30 pm ISH there was still plenty of spaces , yes there is a little noise from the main road but it didn't affect me too much. ”This is a little gem of a hotel, while the rooms are on the smaller size they are well equipped and have everything you need (apart from a fridge). Staff are friendly and keen to help, bar area is brilliant with the table top interactive game, shuffle board, interactive darts and ps5’s. Had the duck pizza which was a winner. Didn’t use the spa due to the cost but hopefully will on our next visit. Breakfast was nice and fresh, good coffee and a lovely view of the lake. All in all this is a nice...

”The room was very nice, large flatscreen TV, nice little porch seating area in front of my room. I did not use the pool, but it is heated. There is a train line that goes by that you can hear, but it did not bother me. In addition to a free continental breakfast, they will make to order breakfast, depending on the time for a charge. I had two very minor issues but they were resolved quickly. I would highly recommend this property.”

The breakfast was without doubt the high point. The order form was offered the night before and allows one to specify the delivery time. It was a proper English breakfast, exactly on time, well presented, perfectly prepared and delicious. I will happily book at Orchard Cottage again if the opportunity arises and I recommend...
