”I would say it’s a steady 3 star. It’s not really geared to be a hotel, room facilities very basic although clean. Tv signal was poor even on BBC1. Breakfast was a free continental which didn’t even have fresh pastries. It’s ok but for the money I paid I expected better. There was a wedding on Saturday night which was a bit chaotic but thankfully it’s away from the rooms so wasn’t too loud. Probably wouldn’t return unfortunately.”

”Quirky with some lovely staff in the evening in the restaurant. The gardens are also beautiful but small things could really enhance the hotel to get more from its potential. My stay improved after a few small disappointments. The room was warm and quiet. The meal on the second night was excellent (first night's green curry with poppadoms was less so and lacking in flavour).”

”Wonderful overnight stay with our springer spaniel . Lovely clean and spacious dog friendly room in the Annex with a fabulous view . Set in wonderful grounds with lovely outdoor areas and enjoyed a great circular walk down to the river. All staff were so friendly and the steak for the evening meal was cooked perfectly as was the very generous breakfast . Definitely be back”

”Lovely decor in the hotel. Our suite was gorgeous. We ate in the restaurant and it was lovely, great menu. The pub is very cosy, very relaxed feel to it.”

”Beautiful cottage. Wonderful decor and spotless. Lovely comfy bed and great nights sleep as area so peaceful. Wonderful village main street just 3 mins walk to pubs and lovely eateries.”

”This was one of the best places I have stayed in a long time. The look of the Ribchester Arms, when we arrived, was impressive. We had a very large room and bathroom, both very modern with a 'fridge and juices, milk, drinks and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and looked after us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and pretty good. We ate there a couple of nights and the food was wonderful. A recommended place to stay .”

”Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely. Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here.”
