”Lovely stay, everything you needed. Food was great, evening meal and breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only down side is the building is dated and there was no fridge in the room.”

”THIS IS THE ULTIMATE STAY!!! Beautiful, old stone cottage, all remodeled inside and stocked with everything! Fabulous bed, down comforter, big shower, 5 ft bath tub, washing machine, clothes line, every cooking utensil! Off the street in a private courtyard with stone walls and back green yard. 2 blocks to main street, on-street parking. ABSOLUTELY MY BEST STAY in 2 months traveling!”

”Well appointed close to all facilities and beach. The cottage was well stocked but showing signs of wear and tear which you expect with high occupancy , unfortunately the main concern was the water temperature it was tepid and never got hot which meant cold baths and showers therefore we didn’t use the hot tub who wants constant cold showers for that reason alone we would not use the property again or recommend it.”

”Hotel is in great location, some things slightly dated in the hotel but great location. When booking ran reception and was just quoted price Expedia were offering, surely booking directly should be cheaper.”

”We had a last minute booking and were pleased with our stay at The Slate. All the staff were really nice and helpful. Maybe a mini fridge next time would be nice but overall we we had a nice two night stay!”

”Central to the university. We needed to move our son from one house to another which was within easy distance. Parking private and next to hotel. Everyone courteous .”

”Lovely staff and excellent location. Rooms look as though they have been recently refurbished. Cold breakfast selection not as good as it used to be but good variety of cooked breakfasts on offer. I found the restaurant very cold in the evening but fine in the morning. Plenty of supplies in the room, tea, coffee, water, biscuits and toiletries etc.”

”We stayed for 2 nights as a group of 6 friends plus a doggo. We were made feel very welcome, the house was clean and spacious, beds comfy, couldn't ask for anything else. We enjoyed the walks up the mountains straight from the house, and gorgeous beach walks. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.”
