”The staff were very welcoming and made me feel at ease as a lone traveler. My room location was less than ideal at the very top of what seemed to be a never ending staircase, however the room itself was very nice, albeit a smell in the bathroom which smelt of drainage. It was however clean and spacious. The breakfast and evening meal were great and again all staff lovely and helpful.”

”The room was nice & clean , a bonus was the air conditioning as it was hot weather . We also ate evening meal there which was ok , breakfast was plentiful with a good choice . We only stayed one night on our way to Scotland & our daughter & family met us there to complete the journey . What was nice was that they were able to park & use the hotel for food / drinks etc . Thankyou we appreciated that 😊”

”We informed the hotel we'd be arriving early as we were attending a wedding, and they very kindly had the room ready for our arrival. The room was clean and had comfortable twin beds, with a gorgeous view over the village square and Middleham Castle. The welcome we received was warm and friendly. ”We had a racing break their it was vey good and clean the only negative was the evening meal finished at 7 we were 2 late. And no breakfast . We could only have 1 coffee each as their was no coffee sachets and milk cartains. When the bar closed”

”We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard.
