”Lovely place, lovely people, lovely breakfast. No air conditioning was a bad feature. The fan provided had no impact. If it had been the heatwave week it would have been unbearable.”

”The breakfast was disappointing. Bread and croissants were dried up and stale. Too much was put out at the start - put less out and staff should monitor refilling as needed. Parking was excellent which is a bonus in Stamford”

”Very comfortable bed, clean room We stayed for 2 nights. At check-in, we did not notice the sign in reception that you need to ask for a room refresh (before noon) We needed clean cups, glasses, tbags, but we asked in the pub on the second day and all were provided. The only downside is there isn’t really anywhere in the bathroom to dry towel on a two night stay, so maybe best to ask for refresh Excellent value for money”

”Excellent food in a lovely village next to a main road however when you shut the windows the traffic noise was vastly reduced. The close room was great value.”

”There is a photo of a Jacuzzi bath on the garden rooms. I thought I would pay extra for a jacuzzi bath but I was told that was only in the bridal suite, I was very disappointed and felt this was blatantly misleading so it’s worth considering that, they should change the picture really! Also I think they need a new kettle in the room, it looked very scaly and dirty, (see photo).”

”We had a fantastic stay at The Barnsdale, such a beautiful, relaxing and picturesque venue. We enjoyed use of the spa, which is beautifully done, small and intimate. Evening meal in the Brasserie was delicious with fabulous service and breakfast was just as delicious, with lots of choice and was well organised. All staff were very polite and helpful, especially the lovely lady on reception. The welcome glass of wine on arrival was such a lovely touch. Only disappointment was that the king...
