”Staff were lovely couldn't do enough for you. Room lovely and clean had a meal at night really nice breakfastvery good only continental but nice plenty of it ”

”The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great.”

”Accommodation is fine. Breakfast menu is a selection of fried, unhealthy or coated in butter. Needs to be better to compete with other local providers”

”Restaurant and Bar were fantastic, friendly staff with great food and beverage options. Hotel itself was very clean, well air conditioned (including in your room) and relatively modern throughout.”

”Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. The only down sude was the loss of my credidit card - was is handed in to you?? Dennis Cole”

”We had a lovely stay. Our room was perfect for us….lovely comfy bed and a small courtyard where we had dinner delivered! We were lucky that the weather was very warm too. Our dogs were very happy and calm and safe there . I would happily recommend this room (2) for anyone travelling with dogs. Thank you Wynnstay and staff, you made our trip really comfortable.”

”Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu”

”Basic hotel. Clean and comfy but tired looking and tiny rooms. I had a double room for one person - glad I didn’t have to share!”

”The room we had was fairly run down. In particular it had a strong and unpleasant odour. At first we thought having the windows open would help. But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. Some of the glass window pains had black mould, not only around the edges but in the middle of the glass. We left pretty early because we couldn't be in the room anymore. ”It was such a lovely place to stay, very cosy and clean.”

”We stayed in an Executive run which was well maintained and spacious if a little dated. Bathroom had been updated but corners had been cut like an old siding on the bath. Air con worked well and the room was quiet overnight. Breakfast wasn’t great. Limited choices and the eggs were terrible both scrambled and fried, but it was only £10 each. It was good value for money overall and convenient for a stroll into town to catch the shuttle bus to Llangollen Pavilion. Would imagine it gets very...

There were no spare pillows in the room (I don't want to have to ask), no toilet brush in the rest room which is fine if maid service makes a good job of cleaning the toilet; which they didn't. Beginning of mould in shower could have done with a deep clean in bathroom.No air conditioning in rooms really isn't good enough in this day and age.
