”4 night stay April 2026 (Sunday to Thursday) - accommodation very clean, comfortable and modern, hosts very welcoming - location peaceful (a few sheep and horses over the fence at the bottom of the garden, but no noise) and nice dark skies (I saw a few Lyrid meteors during my stay!). Great kitchen facilities (so you can easily self-cater if you want) and excellent shower, better accommodation than a hotel if visiting the area IMHO. ”We loved everything about our stay in Mafeking. The house, the garden and Benenden are all beautiful. Mafeking is a great choice for familys, there are plenty of toys and a lovely playground nearby. We extended our stay because we loved it that much and had a very friendly and accommodating experience with the costumer service. ”We had a wonderful stay in the Cart Lodge cottage. Location was perfect - easily accessible from the main yet very quiet and secure with plenty of parking. Cottage had everything we needed - including very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen (we cooked multiple times) and a cozy sitting room. Best feature: the sheep! Loved watching them from the window and feeding them digestive biscuits in the morning. We would definitely stay again.”

”If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. Thank you once again to our host Martin who meets guests at the gate to lead you through the forest.”

"Hotelli sijaitsee rantakadun varrella, vain kadun yli, ja pääsee uimaan. Katu kylläkin on vilkasliikenteinen, mutta se ei kuulunut sisälle asti. Myös paikallinen nähtävyys, Eastbournen Pier laituri on lähellä. Näkymä hotellihuoneesta merelle oli myös huimaava. Hotellirakennus itsessään on vanha, sitä on kunnostettu, mutta se ei haitannut. Rakennuksessa on myös hissit. Ystävällinen henkilökunta, sekä päivällisen että aamiaisen nauttimismahdollisuus."
