”Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay”

”Beautiful village location, picture perfect. Barn itself had everything we needed for a self catering break and was a charming place to stay”

”Lovely stay. Helpful and polite staff. Good food excellent choice. Breakfast amazing. They even give you a packed lunch everyday. Room cosy and clean..will return.”

”Excellent stay, really comfortable room with helpful staff. Restaurant was a gastronomic experience and I lived it.”

”Great stay in a very friendly country inn. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, the Guinness was great, the bed was really comfortable and I look forward to coming back. One note if you’re an American like me— don’t just ask Siri to get directions to the Dog & Partridge because apparently there’s a pub with that name in every village, lol. When I finally got to the right one, though, it was worth it!”

”Nice lounge to relax and read. Breakfast was great quality, lots of choice and good coffee! We booked a private room with ensuite which was in the barn annex. This was basic, but ok, but the heating wasn't working in that building. Soaking wet after 20mile walk. Staff eventually moved us to another private room, 4 bed, in the main building. On arrival at 5pm was told to order dinner before 6.30pm as there was a large group booked in at 7pm. So we did at 6.00pm only to be told the chef was now...

”Room was filthy, dust, dirt and cobwebs. Bathroom smelt like poo. Sink leaked. Entire room smelt of damp. Bed atrocious. The pillows were flat as pancakes and very old. Fridge didn't work. Staff friendly.”

”Very good clean well managed.”

”I really enjoyed our stay at the lodge and overall we had a very good experience. The inside was above our expectations. The rooms were newly refurbished, clean and comfortable, and the kitchen and dining areas were also really nicely done. The beds were comfortable and everything felt fresh and well looked after. The caretaker was extremely helpful and supportive throughout our stay, and we received really good customer service, which made us feel very welcome. There are just a couple of...

”The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up...
