The Hoot - a gorgeous & secluded cabin on private wildlife reserve

The Hoot's a whimsical & wonderful cabin nestled between trees & lakes on our private wildlife reserve. Nature & its song abound to soothe & relax. Gloriously hidden away & off the beaten track it offers seclusion & serenity. Lovingly furnished with local art, vintage crockery & board games it's unique, sustainable & built from reclaimed materials; all of which give it a gorgeous koselig feeling. Luxuriate in the hot tub, enjoy stunning night skies, or watch the wildlife from the amazing decking.

The Hoot is the third and final cabin we've built here and I have to say it s my favourite! From walking out onto the raised decking, which gives you the most glorious views through the valley, to the Hornsea crockery and Dusk bedding I just love the eclectic mix of styles. I'm also super happy that we have retained the wildness in the surroundings whilst making it a welcome and cosy place to stay and be in nature. We really hope you feel this too!

The Hoot is part of Bellbrook Farm where we're proud to be a regenerative holiday destination. We have just three cabins here so all guests can enjoy a sense of space. We''re passionate about protecting our native wildlife and love welcoming fellow nature lovers! Since 2022 we have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our trout fishery into a wildlife reserve.

There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just lots of wild areas which we hope you'll enjoy exploring. You'll be able to spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lakes in the summer. We hope spending time by the lake & listening to the sound of water will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

The open plan living area welcomes the beauty of nature indoors with the double French doors opening onto the decking. The bedroom has a generous ensuite bathroom and beautiful views of the lake and trees - a delight to wake up too!

As The Hoot is truly hidden away, it's the perfect location for a mindful break in nature and provides an antidote to the daily grind. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and very little else so a car is essential to access any shops, cafes, walks etc. The lanes are also single track for 2 miles so you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles).

If you're looking for a relaxing few days exploring Exmoor or visiting the local National Trust whilst enjoying a cream tea or a pub lunch it's perfect. However if you want a place with a good night life and cafes within walking distance it's really not recommended. The night skies and bird watching provide the entertainment at Bellbrook!
