Matkat – Tohatin

Definitely not a 4-star hotel. It should be rated as a 3-star property. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Chisinau. You can easily walk to the main attractions, restaurants, cafés, and even the city's central market. Unfortunately, the hotel is very noisy, especially if you get a room on the first floor, as I did. The lobby is right outside the rooms, and during my stay I had to go to the reception several times to ask them to tell the guests in the lobby—who were drinking, laughing, and talking loudly—to keep the noise down. The breakfast is quite limited for a 4-star hotel, although the food is fresh. Housekeeping was also disappointing. The room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard, and I had to complain because the bed sheets were dirty. Instead of replacing them properly, it seemed they had simply been carelessly placed one on top of another..

Hotel Park Suites is located in a residential area close to the wonderful Dendrariu Park. The suites are spacious, with lots of natural light. There is a balcony where you can sit and relax while having a drink or a snack. Nature lovers will adore walking to Dendrariu Park. An absolute must-see! The city center of Chişinău is 30-40 minutes (walking) but there are trolley buses and/or other public transport (taxi) that can take you conveniently to the center. I travelled alone and therefore the Hotel Park Suites was actually “too spacious” for me but it will be an ideal place to stay for families with children or befriended couples. A supermarket, a bakery and a restaurant (“Andy’s) are situated at only 200-300 meters from the Hotel Park Suites.
