Mountain Hut 'la Fraccia' in pristine Alpine setting

Beautiful authentic mountain hut in a fantastic, pure natural landscape, located on an Alpine meadow. The former agriturismo, built in 2005 in traditional style with granite and wood, offers a mix of rugged Alpine atmosphere and comfort. Downstairs there is a spacious living room with plenty of seating and a wood stove, a toilet, a large kitchen with a 4-burner induction hob, oven, dishwasher, a utility room with fridge/freezer, washing machine and dryer, and storage space. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. All rooms have central heating. Use of LPG and fire wood is available for an extra fee. Large terrace with stunning views of the Cairasca Valley to the south. Plenty of space. Complete silence apart from a babbling brook in the distance and perhaps a goat bell in the morning or a bellowing stag at night. Accessible via a dead-end tarmac road which is kept clear of snow in winter; parking by the road. At 1300 metres altitude within walking distance of the Swiss border.



Beautiful hiking trails through Alpe Veglia - Devero, Valle Divedro, Ciamporino, Monte Cistella, Monte Diei, and the Sempione pass. Also great for mountain biking. Restaurants with delicious local dishes can be found in the villages in the region. The area is famous for its cheeses, sausages, and wines. In winter, it's a fantastic area for snowshoeing, tour-skiing, and Alpine skiing in the local ski resort, which is available for an extra fee. If you fancy leaving the mountain vibes behind and visiting charming Italian towns, that works well too, with Domodossola and Lake Locarno / Lago Maggiore nearby. Trasquera is also easily accessible by (day/night) train (Varzo station); Milan-Malpensa is about 1.5 hours away.
