”Really lovely stay for 3 nights. Gorgeous room and bathroom, great friendly staff and good food. Very good value. Train station right across the road. Would definitely stay again.”

”Great shirt stay, the beds were really comfy and the room was spacious with everything we needed. Staff were lovely.”

”The hotel was difficult to find as it’s a small door at the end of a building block. There is no parking, you need to use any of the city lots at £14 a week. Room was quiet and clean. Haystacks is an excellent cafe downstairs.”

”Great breakfast. Lovely Sunday roast. Good find.”

”Beautiful room and a great location”

”Hotelli oli suht.ok. Kokemusta pilasi voimakas tupakan tuoksu aavuttomassa huoneessa”

”Location was convenient for us but the room was noisy with music playing until after 11pm on both nights. Strange smell in the room and no reading lights or fridge.”

”The staff are great but according to the locals OYO have ruined the place and dont care. Which is a shame as the staff all try so hard without support.”

”We had a fantastic stay at the butchers arms. They were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with another hotel and Andrew and his team couldn’t do enough for us. What a lovely place to stay. Very clean place. Bed was super comfy had a fantastic nights sleep. We will definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you Andrew and all the team for looking after us. 😊😊”

For an expensive room (even for a Sunday) it was quite basic in lots of ways, and disappoining when compared to the plush bar and seating areas downstairs. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent....

”The restaurant was excellent with a great menu taste Staff top notch The hotel was great but the bathroom although very clean shows it’s ready for a makeover”

”A well equipped and comfortable cottage that feels more spacious inside than it might look from the outside. We also enjoyed having the terrace at the back. It's nice and private there, with only the sound of the river below. Being so close to one of the waterfall trails, the surrounding area does get busy during the day, so you might not always be able to park in the street outside. Free space always opened up by the evening, though. We certainly felt comfortable here, and had everything we...
