”It was a little hard to find because the rooms are in a back alley way, up several steps where we eventually saw a dign, but the place was really nice with heated floors which were welcome on a cold day. The gal who showed us around was really sweet and very responsive. I'll for sure stay again if ever in the area! ”

”It’s an older establishment with unique decor! Group of stone houses, nestled in a mountainous area, very relaxing and peaceful! Spacious room with necessary amenities. Balconies to sit and gaze the view. We only stayed one night. I would think it’s more of a winter accommodation but definitely provides coolness’s for the heat of the summer as well.”

We’ve traveled the entire country and seen the most amazing places but the Ambelona Retreat is in its a class of its own. ”Great place with amazing views! Elena, the owner, was lovely but doesn't speak English. We managed with a few words each, a bit of sign language and a lot of Google translate. Rooms are perhaps unusual in decor but very comfortable and lots of choice for breakfast - particularly good omelette cooked freshly by Elena. Good tavernas within walking distance. Fabulous walking with the menalon trail. Very quiet and peaceful. And did I mention the views!”
