”We chose it for the spa which was well looked after and in good quality. The room was very tired, soft furnishing were ok but paint and decor was very old as was the bathroom. Food at the linden was adequate but at London prices. We only ate there once.”

”The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds”

”This accommodation about 15 to 20 minutes walk into the main town/ harbour. Taking longer if you want to avoid walking through a industrial area. However it was well lit and at no point felt unsafe. Lots of free parking. Very good sized rooms with all needed for a comfortable stay. I would have liked some more lights in the room. But didn't ask . ”Stayed for 3 nights at the end of July. Room was immaculate and cleaned every day, with a note to say who had cleaned it. Bed was huge, as was the shower. Room a decent size too. ”The photos were very misleading. This place was very run down. On entry, despite lots of posters highlighting no smoking, the foyer and many areas smelled of smoke. The lady on reception was very friendly, however, she went through several rooms on the computer before finding one that had the keys available when she checked. ”Only used the hotel for bed and breakfast. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. The dining room was impressive and had some history attached to it. The service was responsive at breakfast and kindness and understanding shown to a nervous 6 year old. The free public parking at the rear of the hotel worked well and the proximity to the town and castle and gardens.”
