The listing is misleading regarding its location. It states that the property is in the city center, but it is actually more than a 12-minute walk from Tropea’s historic center.
We arrived at the address provided in the listing with our luggage, but were then instructed to go to another location for check-in. This was inconvenient and confusing. Communication was also difficult because the host spoke only Italian and was rude and unhelpful throughout the check-in process
The apartment generally matches the photos, but an important detail is missing from the description. It is located behind a hotel, next to the kitchen, and staff frequently walk past the apartment’s glass entrance, providing very little privacy.
On our first night, the sofa bed was not prepared because no sheets or towels had been provided. The missing linens were delivered the following day, but this should have been taken care of before our arrival.
Overall, the inaccurate location, confusing check-in process, lack of privacy, and the problems at check-in made our stay disappointing. I would not choose this property again.
