”Nice accommodation in beautiful surroundings and ideally situated . Dick the host was very welcoming and it was great having his dog Flo come chill with us for a while. Great breakfast too. Great walks for our dog and the grounds are peaceful”

”Excellent quite property with first rate modern amenities but with old historic feel from the hard work by the owners to bring back a luxurious comfortable English Manor House feel. I will be returning in the future and enjoy the place. All the details gave me the best night sleep that I can remember.”

”We were not told there would be a wedding in progress so the music was quite loud until 11pm. There was no option for early takeaway breakfast at 8am, and no option for room only. The restaurant still set up for wedding, with chairs stacked up.The female staff in the restaurant were very nice and the food excellent, something a bit different. Our shower head kept falling down & the toilet flush handle broken. The room was spotlessly clean.”

”I wanted to know if they could give me a room with a shower tray. No reply. I needed to cancel due to illness and then neither I could get hold of them. As a result I had to pay for a hotel I could not use. Expedia were unable to sort out this issue. Such poor communication means I will not use this hotel ever. I also am disappointed Expedia could not get the hotel to agree to basic customer service like being responsive to customer enquiries”

”Had a great stay, room 1 was fantastic. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and a sofa was a bonus. Great bath, one thing to note may be the addition of a shower curtain, we managed to soak the floor every time we used it. Water and orange juice was a nice touch and filtered coffee was tasty. We did feel the stairs were very deep and the additional of another hand rail may be something to consider. Lovely dark room and we slept so well. Breakfast was great, nice to see all local and home grown...

”Really lovely stay - friendly staff in a small pub in Combe Down open for evening meals during the week, and open for lunch onwards at the weekend. We had a lovely welcome, preordered breakfast for the next morning which was really delicious, and was shown to our room upstairs. A lovely view of the white horse in the distance and a comfy bed, with lovely furnishings. We would stay again.”

”This place was in the most adorable town and made you feel connected to it. The hosts were phenomenal and if you’re lucky you might get a homemade chocolate cake while you’re there.”

”A historic building in a central position in Frome, clearly an old coaching inn or similar. The bedrooms sit within a maze of staircases and corridors. Some stairs are best suited to young mountain goats. My room was on the top floor, up a narrow, steep stair with a tricky turn. My stick and I managed it, just, and staff brought up and took down my case. I expected an attic-type room, but it was spacious, with high ceilings, nicely laid out and with a clean, well-maintained bathroom - full...

”700 vuotta vanha, aina majatalona ollut hotelli. Elämyksellinen, historiallinen paikka.”

”Persoonallinen huone. Erityisesti amme jäi mieleen, koska se oli huoneessa. Hyvä aamupala. Ilmastointia olisimme kaivanneet.”

”We were only there for a stopover. The house was lovely and the host was very accommodating. They were very thoughtful and we appreciated it!”

”Great stay just after Christmas. Check-in times are limited, but it was very easy to get in following the instructions. Room and the whole hotel was really nicely furnished and decorated with good taste. Everything was clean. Breakfast was also really good with different varieties to order. Peaceful location with about 10 min walk to the city center. Can highly recommend this hotel.”

”The Rose and Crown was an absolute delight. The property was so sweet, the room clean, cute and comfortable. The location excellent, close to Bath but a quiet oasis out of the hustle and bustle. The food at the pub was delicious and well valued. Would highly recommend.”
