I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Conca Bella Boutique Hotel. Upon check in, we were not initially given the upgraded room we expected in addition to the VIP perks for food. On the second day, staff informed us there had been a misunderstanding and moved us to a different room, which they described as an upgrade. However, this new room turned out to be significantly worse. The room was extremely hot due to direct sun exposure throughout the day. We turned on the air conditioning and waited, but after 20 minutes, the temperature had not improved at all. When we attempted to contact reception, we discovered that the room did not have a telephone—something I have never experienced in any hotel before. I had to use my personal phone to call the front desk, only to be told that the “upgraded” rooms do not have functioning air conditioning, as these units are only turned on during the summer months.
This was very frustrating, especially considering that the standard room we were originally in did have working air conditioning. It is unacceptable that a supposed upgrade would offer fewer basic amenities than a standard room. Given that temperatures were already quite high, it made sleeping extremely uncomfortable.
Additionally, when we tried to open the window for ventilation, it would not close properly afterward. As a result, mosquitoes entered the room and bit both me and my husband multiple times, further worsening our stay.
