”Very clean, felt high-end quality. Was stressful checking in because there was an issue with the lock code, and I ended up setting off the alarm when trying to enter! But getting the staff on the phone was simple, and they fixed the code within minutes. Minor annoyance, but there was only one tea towel - 2 would be better. Bed was extremely firm, but I'm well aware that it's a matter of taste. Overall felt nice and quiet, good sense of privacy.”

”Such an excellent place to spend a night away. It had everything we needed and despite only being a quick drive to the city, it felt like a different world. We loved lighting the fireplace and it also meant the house stayed cosy all night and into the following morning. The place was clean, comfortable and we loved the extra attention to details. Meeting the animals was an added bonus! Vaughan was a great host, excellent communication and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!”

”Hairs in the bathroom when we checked in, not properly clean, bathroom rubbish bin full. 2x cockroaches. 1 big one on my friends pillow and one in kitchen cupboard.No tongs or fish slice and online mirror, I would definitely add a mirror to each bedroom. Also a problem with ants getting into our food so we had to throw things away.Bathroom tab wobbly, beeping toilet really annoying, stain on carpet and rips in the couch. No carpark either was a bit of a pain”

”Our family of 5 (3 kids ages 7-12) was here on our holiday in between a visit to the northlands and then after we headed south to new Plymouth. It ended up storming both nights so it was nice to have a kitchen and table for playing cards, etc. Smash burger nearby was excellent takeout!! (But check opening times). ”What a beautiful spot! We spent the night here for our anniversary and it was just magical. Looking out onto rolling hills and the bath on the balcony made romantic by the extra little touches of pretty lights candles and bubble bath provided by Vaughan. He also let us feed the baby calves and then we went down to the 2 cows to feed them. Prince the horse was out in the paddock so we didn’t get to say hello but Vaughan made our stay very welcoming.
