”Das Hotel ist im Vintage Stil erbaut, bietet aber jeden notwendigen Komfort, hat alles was man braucht. Das Personal sympathisch, hilfsbereit, sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Hotel ist sehr gut an den öffentlichen Verkehr eingebunden, was ich sehr zu schätzen wusste, da ich ausschliesslich mit Bahn und Bus unterwegs war. Das Restaurant gefiel mir ausserordentlich, einerseits wegen der Auswahl und anderseits durch das Ambiente.”

”Room was spacious, great shower. However the room we were in (an upgraded room) was over the kitchen and every morning at 7am something started up and all we could hear was the hum of it which is annoying when you would like a lie in. We ate both nights in the pub. The food is good but very pricey. On our 2nd night we both had a special which was gammon, 1egg, chips, pinapple and piccalily. I pointed out that it said two eggs but we only got one each. The waiter was apologetic but just said it...

”The hotel is very well run and the hosts are very helpful. The rooms are a decent size. Although it took a while for the water to warm up in the shower. I acknowledge that this is beyond the owner’s control, but my second floor room overlooked a junction and the traffic was noisy . At about 4am a lorry collected the empty glass bottles. The noise of the crash as the glass shattered was shocking. Avoid a roadside room on a Wednesday morning….if you want undisturbed sleep.”

”We loved this property and area as a whole and to be in Sherborne was fantastic anyway, and so close to the Abbey was beautiful in itself. The in-house staff were brilliant and very helpful too with anything we needed, but I’m afraid the general up keep of the building and facilities in Room 1 (family size) were poor in places like broken fixtures and fittings etc, like the cracked toilet seat lid, the broken (and not working) shaving light and shaver power socket on the mirror in the bathroom...
