”Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great advice and what to see and do locally. Perfect location by the motorway but beautiful scenery next to the lake and hills. Room & building was a little tired but perfectly fine for a dog friendly stay.”

”Nice location (quite remote and quiet) and friendly staff. Some gaps in the breakfast service, e.g. lacking glasses, plates etc. And the breakfast ended already at 9 which was very early for me. The condition of the hotel was quite worn-out and occasionally dirty, there were several spiderwebs and spiders in the hallway and the smell of our room was musty. ”

The staff are lovely, efficient, and professional- we were even allowed to check in early and received a wonderful room upgrade on arrival! ”Auton sai parkkiin kadunvarteen suoraan hotellin eteen. Ystävällinen henkilökunta otti vastaan. Söin illalliseksi hampurilaisen ulkona ja ateria oli maittava. Hotelli oli hiljainen ja huoneeni oli halvimmasta päästä, wc ja suihku oli käytävällä. Olin niiden ainoa käyttäjä. Aamiainen kysyttiin etukäteen ja pöytään oli katettu huoneen numerolla paikka. Hotellin wifi oli tosi nopea verrattuna yleisesti tarjolla oleviin ilmaisiin verkkoihin. Hotellia vastapäätä on suklaatehdas, kannattaa vierailla.”

”The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. ”Very dissapointing stay. Rooms were tired, food was below par with us not enjoying our meal at all. As a resident we struggled to find anywhere to sit in the bar as the bar/lounge was full of people visiting to eat food. Kept up all night by dogs barking so didn't sleep well. Had to wait for 20 minutes one morning at breakfast before we were given a menu or asked if we wanted a tea or coffee and only provided after we prompted the staff. ”Excellent hotel a few minutes walk from the centre of Bowness on Windermere. All the staff we met were helpful and courteous. The room was comfortable and well appointed. We used the Spa pool and sauna. The breakfast had everything you could possibly wish for.”
