Goldfinch Cottage is a stunning and very spacious Victorian house, modernly decorated to a high standard. It offers the perfect setting for a relaxing seaside break in Whitstable with friends, family, and even your dog.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
The town, beach, Harbour and Whitstable Castle are all only a couple of minutes walk which makes it easy to pop to the shops and eat out at the many restaurants. You can enjoy a boat trip , hire bikes and learn to paddle board if you're feeling a bit more adventurous!
Visits to the surrounding towns of Herne Bay with it's historic Pier and Canterbury with it's breathtaking Cathedral are only a short bus ride away with busses running every 15 minutes.
You have access to all areas in the property apart from the wall cupboards in the kingsize & twin bedroom and half of the understairs cupboard.
After a day of exploring Whitstable, step through the front door and sink into the large, comfortable sofa in front of the crackling fireplace, perhaps with a glass of wine or a good book in hand. The stylish and fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing a hearty meal using fresh local fish from Whitstable's working harbour and also features a dishwasher for added convenience. The dining table and chairs offer views through the bi-fold doors to the delightful decked wild flower garden, complete with comfortable seating and the lovely scent of honeysuckle. The convenient utility room is equipped with a sink, washing machine, fridge, and freezer.
Ascending the stairs, you'll find three bedrooms: a large king-size, a double, and a twin, all furnished in keeping with the Victorian style of the house. The relaxing bathroom features a toilet, basin, shower over the bath..
For families with young children, a travel cot (guests are asked to bring their own bedding) and a high chair are provided, along with some suitable kitchenware.
There is free street parking on the road and surrounding roads. The nearest paid parking is Victoria Street car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc. You can find more parking on the 'Just Park' website.

There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs.
The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.
