”Gorgeous little B&B run by the lovely Les. Everywhere was spotless and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfy, very pretty and had everything we could need for our 2 night stay. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Felt like by the end of our stay that Les had become a friend and a confidante 😉

”If you value the suspension in your car then avoid the long potholed drive up to this property!
On arrival it transpired the lift was not working and no-one appeared the whole weekend to investigate or repair. No idea how long it had been broken. No apology was given when we arrived. We were simply directed to the staircase to get to our room on the 2nd floor!.
No idea when the skirting boards in the room was last cleaned.
The shower in the room was scalding hot one minute and freezing cold...

”Great base for the northumberland coast,we visited bamburgh which has lots of history,we can recommend the grace darling museum and the church .Also Alnwick has a fantastic castle,( harry potter was filmed there.) The Amble inn had a great atmosphere we were lucky,band played on the friday we arrived .they played great music.And the meal we booked was lovely.well done to all the staff we were made very welcome and nothing was to much trouble.
Plenty of free parking aswell.”

”The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds”

Bar. And outside area great lots of room
Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs.
All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone.
Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room
I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet
Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab”

”We booked for 5 nights so that we could explore the area, having never visited north east England previously. The location suited our purpose very well.
The breakfasts were good and the staff made sure that all dishes were kept well filled; my one suggestion for meal improvement concerns the fixed all day menu. Whilst I understand the convenience (for the hotel) of having a fixed unchanging menu (except for the specials which were not available every evening) it does not suit guest who stay...

”Read reviews after booking this last minute - wanted to cancel as they were so poor but couldn't without losing what we'd paid. Went with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The room wasn't sparkling but it was clean enough. Bed linen and towels were clean. Cups less so. No teaspoon in room or sockets for the kettle. We managed. Staff largely absent and both check in and out were peculiar experiences but when we did interact with staff they were friendly enough. Spooky reviews...

”The staff were excellent and couldn’t be more helpful. The lobby and bar areas were nice. We had to change rooms as our first room wasn’t clean. We were moved to a better room only to find scaffolding being put up outside our room on the first day.
We went out for the day and when we came back there were workmen on the scaffolding. We decided to pack up and go home a day earlier than planned. We only stayed one night when we had paid for two. We won’t be going back to this hotel. It needs to...
