The sunsets here, famously admired by J.M.W. Turner, are simply unforgettable. Steeped in history, the longhouse was originally built so fishermen could beach their boats and salt their catch. It later became The Greyhound Inn, a notorious 18th-century smuggling haunt and the inspiration behind Sir Walter Scott’s novel Redgauntlet. Please note there are two internal steps leading to the private garden and four steps with a handrail to the decking area.
