From biking scenic routes in summer to skiing Whiteface Mountain just 5 minutes away in winter, this home is perfectly placed for year-round adventure. Lake Placid is only 15 minutes away, making day trips easy and effortless.

Set beside the Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway and close to Santa’s Workshop, the location also offers classic Adirondack experiences for families and explorers alike.

Festivals & Community Events

- Ausable River Two-Fly Challenge (May 14–16): Wilmington’s biggest spring festival. It’s a fly-fishing tournament that takes over the town with community banquets, fishing demonstrations along the Ausable River, and local celebrations.

- Great Adirondack Garage Sale (May 22–24): A massive regional event where hundreds of households across the Adirondacks (including Wilmington) hold yard sales. It’s a treasure hunter’s dream.

- Keene Farmers Market Season Opener (May 24): Just down the road from Wilmington, this is more of a weekly festival with live music, local crafts, and hot food. It’s the place to be on Memorial Day Sunday.

- Mother’s Day 5k and 10k (May 9): A great community run in Lake Placid. It’s very popular with locals and visitors alike to kick off the spring racing season.

- Americade (May 27–30): While centered in Lake George, you will see a massive influx of motorcyclists in Wilmington during this week, as the ride up the Whiteface Veterans' Memorial Highway is a bucket-list route for the festival participants.

Concerts & Live Entertainment
- Bindlestiff Family Cirkus (May 9): A unique, high-energy circus and variety show performing at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.

- Movie Musical Series (May 8 & May 22): The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is hosting interactive screenings of Hairspray (May 8) and Grease (May 22).

- Howl Story Slam at Smoke Signals (May 20): A popular "Moth-style" storytelling event in Lake Placid where locals and visitors share true stories on stage based on a theme.

- Live Music at Pourman’s Taphouse: In Wilmington specifically, this is your best bet for local acoustic acts and a lively weekend atmosphere during April and May.


Guest access
Parking is located in front of the house and is uncovered, we can accommodate 2-3 vehicles. If you have a pick-up or longer vehicle, you can park in the right side of the house. Please note, the left side is a driveway and can't be blocked at any time. Across the street is the visitor center, you may park there temporarily if needed.

We use a self check in door code so no need to use keys.

- Note: The laundry room is located downstairs in the building. It is not inside the apartment itself. We also have a portable crib available. Please request if needed.

Pets - We may allow pets on a case by case basis, please message us to see if we can accommodate. Cleaning fee applies. For the comfort of all guests, we are unable to accommodate cats on the property.

Backyard & Water Access Disclaimer:

We hope you enjoy the backyard and water access during your stay! Please note these areas are for use at your own risk, as no lifeguard or supervision is provided. Be mindful of your safety and that of any children in your group. The property owner and management cannot be held responsible for any injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur while enjoying these spaces.

We recommend bringing your own firewood so you can fully enjoy the outdoor fire pit during your stay. Firewood can also typically be purchased at nearby gas stations or from local vendors along the road.

This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $37 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.

To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.

Due to the time needed to adequately clean the unit, we are not able to offer early check-in or late check-out. Please book an extra night if you would like to guarantee an early check- in or a late check- out.

If an unauthorized event occurs, a $500 fee will be charged. No parties or events are allowed, per VRBO policy.
