”You are living in a structure with tons of history. It is updated to a point but wants to always maintain its history. Quaint rooms that tell a story and transport you back in time. Breakfast was great and staff very accommodating.”

”I needed a place near the Saxon sites and Cathedral. And it didn't hurt that the Westgate was just a five minute walk from the rail station. It's an old place, and it had the feel of the ages in the floors and doors. But that was part of the overall experience for me. It had charm. The staff was very accommodating, and I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Westgate. It was all good. And it was across the street from the medieval Westgate to the city as well. I would stay there again if ever...

”Fantastic view of the cathedral from our room. However the room and hotel were a little tired. There were cracked tiles on the bathroom floor, and the bathroom light switch was in a dangerous condition…arcing at the slightest touch. There never appeared to be any staff available and the buffet breakfast…well, don’t bother paying for it! You can get a fabulous breakfast at one of the many cafes available nearby!”

”There is no guest house, it's a scam, fraud, fake. I want my money back! They accept booking, you get confirmation and you don't get room, they don't answer your call. Need to report it to every possible site!”

”A lot of design flair has been put into The Kings Head interiors. Very comfortable. The choice of breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we enjoyed there. The staff were very helpful as was their manager Tahir. The Kings Head is on the bus route into Winchester with a bus stop right outside. Very convenient for visiting the city. We were very impressed and would definitely stay again.”

”Upon arrival, I was initially assigned an occupied room. The place was unstaffed, and the provided phone number was unreachable. I had to ask other guests for an alternative number. I called, texted, and left a WhatsApp message on that number, but received no response for at least an hour.When I finally received a text message with details for a new room, I found the bed was broken and the room was freezing cold. A staff member told me he would come to fix the issue but ultimately never showed...

”Loverly overnight stay . Room was comfortable and clean . Breakfast was ok , not as good as the last time we’d stayed last year tho . But will happily stay there again ”
