”Rooms were nice and clean, check in swift and staff friendly. Had the worst nights sleep of my life though. Had to move rooms at 12am as couldn’t get to sleep in my first room due to a constant drone sound from a pump in the building. Reception staff moved me immediately. Finally settled down in the new room only for the fire alarm to go off at 2am. I’m sure my experience would’ve been fine had it not been for those problems”

”It was a beautiful place! The host was very nice and friendly; she came out to help us with things we could have read in the info packet she’d emailed, but she didn’t display the least bit of annoyance. Instead, she conversed with us a bit about the property. The tents are so nice and gave little touches that take it over the top: water bottles, ear plugs, eye masks, decor, space heater, lights over the entrance (didn’t keep me awake). ”Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. ”A lot of design flair has been put into The Kings Head interiors. Very comfortable. The choice of breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we enjoyed there. The staff were very helpful as was their manager Tahir. The Kings Head is on the bus route into Winchester with a bus stop right outside. Very convenient for visiting the city. We were very impressed and would definitely stay again.”
