”Lovely stay. Really nice room, amazing staff from start to finish and a fantastic evening meal followed by an equally delicious breakfast. Would very much stay again.”

”Room was clean and spacious, staff friendly. I booked for 2 nights but only stayed one. This was during a heat wave, the air-conditioning was not working and windows did not open fully. No fans offered and the bed had a medium weight duvet and nothing lighter. I left early because it was impossible to sleep. I understand the aircon has been broken for some time”

”Ideally situated for Burghclere Castle.Amenities in the room was more than adequate with all the extras such as hair dryer, iron ironing board for those staying more than overnight.Extras in the room water tea coffee and chocolate biscuits etc all the extra touches.Quality bed linen and towels. The newly appointed owners are in the process of upgrading and decorating the rooms. Ours was comfortable, warm and plenty of hot water. ”Dogs welcome and treated so well with their own bed, blanket and bowl with free treats and no restrictions on where we could eat or drink. Lovely staff. And delicious food. Our room had everything you could need with a sweet balcony to sit outside. Highly recommend staying here - Max was outstanding. Thank you.”

”No door on the bathroom in the bedroom, which wouldn't be a problem if I couldn't see the toilet from the bed. If you'd like privacy when you go to the toilet, this might not be for you. But other than that, the venue is amazing and the staff were incredible”

”The staff were very friendly, and made us feel at home! The room was cozy and the view was beautiful, though the road outside was rather noisy, but it dies down after dark. I was hooked on the Cotswold Stout while we were there, and the town absolutely won our hearts! Highly recommended The Bear if you're around Marlborough!”

”I booked the executive room, no air conditioning just a small desktop fan, only one bath towel and hand towel to share between two people, stains on carpets throughout the hotel, no water in the room, tiniest complimentary shower gel and shampoo. In general whole place needs updating, breakfast is very average, coffee and orange juice was just about drinkable, I wouldn’t stay again”

”Everything was lovely, especially the staff! In the middle of a heatwave, AC would have been nice but that’s Mother Natures fault. Food was excellent, parking was easy and the surroundings were beautiful! I definitely recommend for a taste of old world charm.”

”The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful.”

”The room was very small for a twin/2 people and nowhere to put suitcases. It was very very hot and the fan didn’t work in the bathroom nor did the window open. There was a fan in the room however! Nice breakfast and staff were lovely.”
