”Lovely room at top, very spacious, extremely comfortable bed, bathroom spacious. Cooked breakfast was superb and beautifully presented. Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Weeny downside, I had already paid via Expedia, my partner didn't realise, and when checking in, whilst I was elsewhere, paid for the room. Luckily he mentioned it later, and it got sorted and refunded. Would definitely stay there again, beautiful old building, and although a pub was very quiet in our room, ...

”The room was not as I expected it. It was on the second floor of what looked to be an out building. There were a few things we were not happy with eg the kettle had to be plugged in on the flour by the bed ( lead too short) but the worst was the shower. It ran cold. We told the reception and they just said they knew and had passed it on to maintenance before but had done nothing about it. Not even an apology. We had not ordered breakfast at the time of booking thinking we could add it later as...

”It's within 10 minute walking distance to centre of town. There is an ok but overpriced Indian restaurant, but setting for food. Big Sainsbury's nearby. Property is standard HI Express, clean, ok breakfast. Only real criticism is having stayed at HI Express a lot over the past 5 months in different places for work, would be good if they could vary the breakfast a bit.”

”We were looking for an old English character house/hotel and found it here. We loved our short stay. Clean, quiet, delicious English style breakfast, affordable room. Slept soundly. It’s roughly a 200 year old house, so expect a few rough corners. It was exactly what we wanted. Key pad self check in had me double thinking our stay but it worked flawlessly ”
