”Great place to stay, staff extremely helpful, kettle wasn’t working on arrival and was swapped within minutes of my request. The young man who served me at breakfast was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble, credit to the Hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again when in the area.”

”A very comfortable, homely place to stay in the heart of the very English village of Stockton Heath. The host was very friendly and helpful producing a yummy breakfast daily at a time to suit each visitor.”

”We were met with a very warm welcome on arrival. The owner was incredibly helpful, offering advise on places to eat and interested in our visit. The room was immaculate and the bed was comfortable. The tea caddy was well stocked. The Aircon was the best we've experienced in years! The decor, atmosphere and architecture of the great hall was amazing and would make a superb venue for a party or wedding. We would absolutely return next time we're in the area.”

”Stayed over in a double room , room was very tired looking and stains on walls. Windows only opened 2 inches and so resulted in very hot room. Bed was uncomfortable. Used spa facilities which were disappointing, steam room was not working and spa was busy with children despite having designated family swim times. Restaurant was very over priced. Having stayed in numerous spa hotels, expected a better standard here but was disappointing”

”We had a great stay at The School House. The room was very comfortable and Helen was very helpful in providing a delicious breakfast so we could leave promptly to see the Manchester Marathon. There is a pleasant walk nearby (recommended by Helen) and we had a great meal at The Fox - just a short walk away. ”

”Excellent friendly pub and adjacent hotel. Two little issues could make it a lot better. Box of tissues in the bathroom and grab handle on the wall above the bath/shower as the bath is quite slippery in spite of its no slip surface.”
