”On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

On the first day, my room was not cleaned, despite housekeeping being right outside the room when I left for the day. On the second day, the room was cleaned but the amenities (tea, coffee, etc.) were not replenished. Clearly no quality checks by the housekeeping management.”

”Good value for money. A room on 1st floor of a small terraced block of houses. Advert should be clearer that it is a shared bathroom (with one other room) and no sink in the room. A toaster, microwave, and kitchenware are provided but have to do your washing up in the bathroom sink and no teatowel provided. Comfortable bed and HUGE TV. We had an evening meal in the bar area which was very good with generous portions and we were served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly and helpful. ”The only downside was breakfast only one staff member to take order and cook as well which meant the self service area was not restocked so there was no juice or cutlery left so had to improvise. Area very small had to move table backwards and forwards to get legs under table from both sides. Long wait for breakfast and only one piece of toast would be better with 2. Plus side excellent coffee machine fresh coffee flavoured syrups and able to choose type of coffee. Bar well equipped friendly...
