”2nd time this year we have stopped here, the beds are super comfy, the rooms are clean, slightly old fashioned but in-keeping with the whole pub, a proper pub I may add.
The staff are fantastic and cant do enough, the breakfast quality & service are amazing, I have been in 5 star hotels and have a food that is no where near the quality of this.
On top of this there is free parking, which a massive plus in York as parking is very expensive and usually miles away from the hotel

”The room was very tired, wobbly floorboards, causing the wardrobe to rattle excessively. The bathroom again was tired, the shower was cold. Broken toilet roll holder. It was clean though. We were hardly in the room anyway, so it did what was needed. The fire alarm went off on the first night, which wasn't a nice wake up call. Luckily it was just someone vaping in their room. The staff were friendly though . I'm was about a 25 minute walk from the station there's a bus also. No 3 heworth cafe was...
